BEING HEARD

WITH ENGLISH HERITAGE

Henrietta Howard, Countess of Suffolk  lived a long life in her beautiful home, Marble Hill House in Twickenham. Henrietta had progressive hearing loss and in her latter years she used an ear trumpet to help her hear.

Working with composer Laura Reid, we have created a sound piece to convey something of Henrietta’s life and hearing loss through Georgian songs which reflect aspects of her life. This sound work will be in permanent exhibition as part of the extensive renovation and interpretation taking place at Marble Hill.

We are collaborating with two brilliant artists on this project, performer Mark Parry and musician and Deaf Awareness Campaigner Eloise Garland (musician).
